I have no goals, yet everything is accomplished

But, but, Peter, you need some north star, something to aim for… to challenge yourself… a goal !

No I don’t.

A bird doesn’t need a goal when building a nest. They, simply, begin building.

Trees don’t wake up one morning and pronounce: “My plan this year is to grow an additional 3 feet“.

They just grow. Then they stop when they’re done. When their inner-nature tells them they’re done. And then they enjoy the view.

This whole thing is like an Allman Brothers concert. Their track ‘Mountain Jam’, when performed live, often ran 30 minutes long. Sometimes less. Sometimes more.

Do you think they analyzed each set & announced a goal for an upcoming performance in Oxford Mississippi? Fuck no. They just start playing, and finish when they feel the song is complete.

And, oddly, when they’re finished, they’re not quite finished. Always small aspects to tweak; bits to add; notes to adjust; new influences to incorporate.

That’s how I build. It’s the perfect way to build.

Enough of this goal nonsense, and more, and more, and more. That the answer is “more”.

“Enough” is my answer.
